School Wide Positive Behavior Plan
POSITIVE BEHAVIOR INCENTIVES
- Student/Citizen of the Month--Students are rewarded for showing exceptional effort in academic performance and citizenship each month.
- Making Good Choices--Classes are recognized monthly for showing good behavior choices. (Following staff directions, behaving properly on the yard, etc.)
- Attendance Awards Assembly--Students are recognized for strong daily attendance.
EXPECTATIONS FOR STUDENT BEHAVIOR
- I treat others the way I want to be treated.
- I respect laws, rules, and school staff.
- I treat people fairly and respect their rights.
- I respect private and public property.
- I take responsibility for my actions and learning.
- I choose how I respond to others.
- I look for the good in others.
- I am honest with myself and others.
- I choose to engage in safe activities.
- I give my best in everything I do.
ZERO TOLERANCE FOR STUDENTS
Behaviors that merit office intervention and probable cause for disciplinary actions (i.e., suspensions):
- Inappropriate touching
- Destruction of school property
- Stealing
- Causing intentional serious physical injury to another person, bringing a knife or other dangerous object and using that object to cause harm
PARENT EXPECTATIONS
If parents would like to see their child or child’s teacher, do the following:
- Upon first entering the school, proceed to the Main Office and state why you are coming to the school.
- If you would like to observe your child’s class or speak with the teacher, please schedule a time in advance with the teacher.
- Please be respectful when addressing school personnel by modeling appropriate behavior and using appropriate language.
